Shovels in the Dirt: Officially Breaking Ground at 40 Main St.

Today, August 21, 2025, marks a momentous milestone for our team and for Downtown Los Altos. After months of planning, designing, and preparing the site, we have officially broken ground at 40 Main Street. Joined by our partners at Base Builders, we celebrated the start of a journey that will culminate in a beautiful, modern addition to the Los Altos skyline.

A New Era for Downtown Los Altos

If you walked by the corner of Main Street and Edith Avenue today, you felt the shift in energy. Our "blank canvas" we created during our July demolition is now officially a construction site. This is the first step in bringing a new standard of luxury living and premium office space to the Los Altos community. 

Groundbreaking represents the transition from a vision on a blueprint to a reality on the street. While we had a brief moment of celebration, the work began immediately after the photos were taken. The heavy equipment was already staged, and our crews were ready to begin the complex process of transforming this site from the ground up.

What to Expect in the Coming Weeks

Now that we’ve broken ground, the "heavy lifting" begins. Over the next several weeks, you will see:

- Site Mobilization: More specialized machinery arriving to handle the upcoming excavation.

- The "Deep Dig": We will be beginning the process of excavating the site to prepare for our massive foundation and technologically advanced parking system.

- Activity & Progress: You’ll see the daily rhythm of a professional job site as we coordinate with the city to ensure everything moves safely and efficiently.

As we start this phase, our commitment to Downtown Los Altos remains our top priority. We are working diligently to minimize the impact on local traffic and foot traffic, ensuring that Main Street stays as vibrant and accessible as ever while we build its newest neighbor.
